Obermaier Residence
Tesuque, New Mexico

Set in Tesuque Canyon, the site has a rare view of the Sangre de Cristo's through a notch in the east canyon wall. The owner wanted a traditional Northern New Mexico pitched roof adobe that would take advantage of those views, have a courtyard garden space and accommodate a young family of five. Although a Living Room was included in the program, most of the activity centers around the Family Room / Kitchen. A dutch door opens off the Kitchen to the south and deep portals open off the Family Room and Master Bedroom to the east, where you can sometimes hear the waters of the Rio Tesuque.
